What is Pelvis Thrust?

Pelvis Thrust measures the pelvis movement and identifies movement patterns that may affect delivery and impact. Early extension is one of the most common movement patterns among amateur golfers and can lead to shanks, mis-hits, and inconsistent contact. Pelvis Thrust measures how your pelvis moves throughout the swing, making it a useful tracker for identifying whether you're maintaining the space needed for a more solid and consistent impact.

educationDefinition or education article

Definition:  The forward or backckward position of your pelvis. It is set to 0 at address. It is negative when the pelvis is pushed back, farther away from the ball than at address and positive when it is closer to the ball than at address.

How to Apply Pelvis Thrust

📍 Top → Impact — Monitor Pelvis Thrust
Track Pelvis Thrust through the downswing and into impact to see how the pelvis moves relative to its address position.

📍 Watch for Early Extension
A common pattern with early extension is the Pelvis Thrust becoming increasingly positive toward the ball

📍 Compare Pelvis & Chest Thrust
Look at Pelvis Thrust alongside Chest Thrust to understand how the upper and lower body are moving relative to the ball. This relationship can help identify compensations and movement patterns that may be difficult to see with the naked eye.
